Mandawash - photos, symptoms and treatment

Human pubic lice - ectoparasites, which are the causative agents of tuberculosis (pubic lice). Insects live mainly on the pubis in the groin area, and can climb over the hairline of the abdomen, as well as the axillary zone. Sometimes parasites affect the scalp of the face: eyelashes, eyebrows, whiskers, or a beard (photo of pubic lice in men below). Parasites feed like other types of lice, solely by the blood of a person, which gives him great discomfort. For other habitats pubic lice are not adapted.

Features of pubic lice

To ensure the presence of parasites, it is necessary to know what pubic lice or squabs look like. This name is popularly given to the insect because it digs into the skin so much that it becomes almost imperceptible. From the side it can be perceived as stuck mote.

The crawfish is a small parasite whose body length is no more than 2 mm. It has a broad rounded body of pale gray color, which makes it inconspicuous among hair. If we look at how lice look under a microscope, then in appearance they resemble crabs very much: on the trapezoid body there is a large pectoral element tapering to the back of the abdomen. Two pairs of hind limbs of the pubic louse are much thicker than the front ones, and the presence of a large hook on them gives a chance to firmly strengthen the human hair. Photos of pubic lice can be seen below.

Breeding process of pubic lice

Pubic lice are calm enough - having caught a hair at the very base, they can stay in the same place for a long time. However, this does not bother them at all. multiply - at one time the female lays up to 3 eggs, for the entire period of life - up to 50 eggs, lives pubic louse a little less than a month. The eggs of the female attached to the hair with a special wax secreted by the glands.

Pubic lice nits are a pear-shaped capsule. The cap-valve located above serves as an outlet for mature larvae. It opens after the gases released by the larva accumulate inside the capsule. On the development of the embryo takes about a week (depending on temperature indicators). The temperature of air of 30 degrees is most favorable for the development of embryos. Pubic lice can not multiply, and nits develop, if the temperature indicator goes beyond 20-40 degrees.

The larva emerging from the egg is much smaller than the adult parasite, its body length is about 0.5 mm. She will become an adult in 17-20 days, undergoing 3 nymphal stages. In order to become sexually mature and mate with an individual of the opposite sex, the ploshchitsa must be sated with blood, for which it takes several hours. Females are almost 2 times larger than males.

Ways of infection

For a long time, phthyriasis was considered a disease of people of low social level living in unsanitary conditions. However, almost everyone can become infected with pubic lice.

Important!

Phthyriasis (pubic pediculosis) is spread both sexually and through household items.

The disease is transmitted by:

  • during intimacy;
  • when using other people's hygiene items, bedding and bedding;
  • when located in common areas: swimming pools, saunas, baths, sports sections or urban toilets;
  • in case of excessive accumulation of people in hostels or barracks, where it is not always possible to maintain the necessary level of hygiene.

You can become infected with pubic lice even during pregnancy. The danger for a woman is that during this period, the administration of most medications is prohibited. However, pediculicides are toxic and can adversely affect the infant. Photos of pubic lice in women are presented below.

Symptoms of the disease

The food for pubic lice is human blood. On the day, the insect can attack its prey several times, drinking up to 0.5 mg of blood at a time. A pest cannot stay for a long time without food: even 2 days of hunger strike are disastrous for him.

The pubic louse begins to bite, piercing the skin with special growths in the mouth.Reaching this way to the blood vessel, the louse dilates the esophagus, preparing for blood injection. At the same time, an insect injects an enzyme that inhibits blood from a special channel.

Pubic lice bites cause:

  • Severe itching, worse at night. In the early stages of infection with phthyriasis, the sensation of itching may be barely noticeable, over time it becomes intolerable and continuous due to the large number of lice bites.
  • Characteristic rash in the form of bluish patches and bubbles, which can periodically appear and disappear. They occur during insect smashing of small blood vessels (below you can see what a rash looks like in the photo).
  • Combs, due to which the skin is very inflamed and flaky. This can lead to the penetration of microbes and the development of a secondary infection, as well as the occurrence of dermatitis or eczema.
  • Changes in the condition of the skin - it thickens, reddens, becomes rough and wrinkled.
  • The appearance of pubic lice on the eyebrows and eyelashes may lead to the development of conjunctivitis or blepharitis.

It is possible to detect pubic lice in the hair with the naked eye.Saturated with human blood, they acquire a brown-red color, as a result of which they become more visible. The pubic nits attached to the hair look like microscopic nodules collected in clusters. Below you can see the saturated mandavosh in the photo.

The presence of dark spots on underwear is another sign indicating the extent of infection with pubic lice. So on the fabric remain the imprints of the products of parasites.

These manifestations are nothing but symptoms of pubic lice, which is evidence of tuberculosis. In case of their occurrence, it is necessary to urgently visit a doctor, who will not only make the correct diagnosis, but also recommend further pediculosis treatment.

How to deal with pubic lice

If lice are found on the pubic part, treatment should be started immediately.

Mechanical impact

One of the most effective and simple methods for the destruction of pubic lice is shaving hairline. To do this, use a razor, shaving foam, and lotion. This process will not take longhowever, it guarantees the achievement of maximum effect. The hair is shaved off with a machine, having previously applied a foam composition to the lice-infested surface. Then carefully treated with alcohol lotion. Such a solution has not only a disinfecting effect, but also reduces irritation of the skin, as well as destroys the surviving parasites.

Do not use for this anti pedicumen combwhich gives a good effect in fighting head lice. Do not achieve a full result when removing insects by hand.

Chemical Exposure

Treatment of pubic lice can also be performed using protiviconuclear drugs. They are based on insecticides that affect the nervous system of bloodsuckers. The consequence of which becomes paralysis, and then the death of insects.

Quite often for these purposes use the same drugs as for the treatment of head lice. However, it should not be forgotten that most of them only affect adults. But on a solid protective shell of nits, they do not act. Therefore, there is a need for re-treatment, which should be carried out no earlier than a week.Pediculicidal agents come in the form of shampoo, sprays or ointments.
The most effective are the following drugs:

Folk ways
