Wormwood and grass from bedbugs in the apartment
Content
Domestic bugs have a very thin and delicate scent, which helps them find a person by smell. This is what can be used if strong smelling herbs are used to combat them: wormwood from bedbugs or other plants.
Wormwood from bedbugs
Wormwood was used to scare away bed bugs our ancestors since ancient times, when no chemical effective insecticides did not exist yet (see photo). The main components of wormwood are phytoncides, essential oils that have a bitter pungent aroma that is very don't like bedbugs.
In rural homes around the room hung bunches of this grass to repel pests. After all, bugs are afraid of wormwood only because of its sharp aroma that can scare off insects, however, with strong hunger, “night bloodsuckers” can still go in search of prey.
Important!
The bugs are afraid of the smell of wormwood only fresh-cut, but as the grass dries, it smells less and less, and its effect becomes less effective.
Wormwood remedies: advantages and disadvantages of their actions
Unlike chemical agents, it is completely impossible to get rid of parasites with the help of wormwood: it will not destroy the bugs themselves and their larvae, but only scare them away for a while. Therefore, it is most effective to apply wormwood only for prophylaxis "Uninvited guests" who can penetrate from the neighbors. To do this, bunches of fresh wormwood are laid out under the mattress, on the floor around the bed, hung in door and window openings, in air vents and along the baseboards.
Disadvantages of wormwood products:
- bitter herbal smell lasts only 2-3 days, because you have to periodically change the grass;
- with a very strong hunger, parasites will not pay attention to the flavor and will find their food;
- wormwood does not affect the population of insects and breeding bedbugs;
- the sharp aroma may not like not only the bugs, but also the owners of the house;
- Wormwood can be used against bedbugs only for a short time, and after a few days, all parasites will return to the inhabited places.
In addition to fresh herbs, in the winter time they use infusions and decoctions of wormwood. Tincture of wormwood from bedbugs is done on alcohol (1: 1 ratio), after which the composition should be infused for 25-30 days. Cooked tincture may be enough only for one piece of furniture, because it is inappropriate to use for the treatment of the entire apartment. It is better to do her spraying insect nests or places they lay out the eggs. In addition, the smell of tincture is effective for 6-7 days, and then the treatment will need to be repeated.
The method of application of wormwood from bedbugs in the form of a decoction is simpler. To cook it, simply boil the grass (fresh or dry wormwood will do).Broth, having a sharp smell, unpleasant for parasites, process frames, ventilation grilles, floors and baseboards, but also only as a preventive measure. Spraying is repeated every 2-3 days, otherwise the scent disappears quickly.
Feedback
A happy event recently happened in our family: the acquisition of a small house in the village. But, to our horror, it was found that many bugs live in it. On the advice of local residents hung bundles of wormwood in all rooms. 2 days bloodsuckers were not, and then appeared again. Had to call pest control for total bed bugs destruction. Now I know that the question of whether wormwood helps from bedbugs can be answered: only temporarily!

Dalmatian and pharmacy chamomile: method of application
Chamomile is a commonly used medicinal plant containing a natural insecticide that can be used to get rid of bedbugs.
Interesting!
Most can help Dalmatian chamomile from bugs, which includes plant pyrethrin, but the pharmacy - less poisonous.
For greater effect, it is recommended to use dried flowers that are ground to a powder or grind on a coffee grinder. Dried chamomile scattered as dust inside the sofa, in the lower part of the mattress - in all blood suckers. Within five days, the parasites, inhaling the aroma of pyrethrin, will either be partially paralyzed, or will begin to leave the apartment or house.
Feedback
In the fight against the "night bloodsuckers" wanted to use folk methods. They found out what herb scares off bedbugs: wormwood, tansy, chemist's chamomile. The method of application seemed simple, so we decided to try. Spilled herbs all over the apartment, laid in sofas and beds. But later it turned out that all these plants can only scare off insects, but do not kill them. Therefore, we had to use chemical methods of struggle that have successfully helped us.
